Refund rules depend on what you purchased and how much notice you give before cancelling a lesson. Below we explain how refunds work for lesson blocks and lesson offers/trial lessons, and what steps you need to take.
Can I get a refund for a lesson block?
Yes. Lessons already booked in the calendar can only be cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice. If you cancel with less notice, you lose that lesson credit.
How to request a refund for a lesson block
Tell your teacher which booked lessons you want to cancel (at least 24 hours before they start).
Let your teacher know you want a refund for your unused lesson credits.

In your email, confirm that you have already told your teacher.
We ask you to contact your teacher first so they can free up their schedule and aren't caught off guard by lessons disappearing from their calendar.
Can I get a refund after my lesson block expires?
Yes. You can get a refund for unused lessons for up to 12 months after your block expires. Blocks of 1 to 20 lessons expire 12 months after purchase, and blocks of 40 lessons expire after 18 months. Read more in our guide to lesson blocks.
Refunds for lesson blocks paid in instalments
If you pay in instalments, our support team works out the balance between what you've paid and the lessons you've used.
If you've paid more than you've used: We refund the difference and cancel any remaining instalments.
If you've used more than you've paid for: We'll tell you how much is outstanding. You can either keep your instalment plan running or pay the balance through an invoice.
We calculate the refund by taking the price per lesson and multiplying it by the number of unused lessons. For example, if you paid £400 (excluding the service fee) for a 10-lesson block and have 4 lessons left, your lesson value refund is £160 (before the processing charge).
Can I get a refund for a lesson offer or trial lesson?
Lesson offers and trial lessons have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date you buy them. You can get a full refund of the lesson fees during this period. The cooling-off period ends after 14 days or when your first lesson takes place, whichever comes first.
After the cooling-off period, your teacher's own refund terms apply. You can find them in the offer you bought. Many teachers don't offer refunds after the cooling-off period.

What fees are deducted from a refund?
Two things are always deducted from a refund:
A £3.00 processing charge. This covers the administrative cost of handling the refund.
The service fee you paid at the time of purchase. This is non-refundable. We only refund lesson fees.
