Student's guide to refunds

Here is a guide to help you understand when you can ask for a refund, and the implications of this.

Updated over a week ago

Refund rules depend on what you purchased and how much notice you give before cancelling a lesson. Below we explain how refunds work for lesson blocks and lesson offers/trial lessons, and what steps you need to take.

Lesson Blocks

You can request a refund for unused lesson credits in a lesson block. However, you must give your teacher at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel any lesson already booked in the calendar.

How to request a refund

  1. Tell your teacher which booked lessons you wish to cancel (giving at least 24 hours’ notice).

  2. Tell your teacher that you would like a refund for any unused lesson credits.

  3. Once your teacher has been notified, email support at [email protected] to request the refund.

    • Please confirm in your email that you have already informed your teacher.

Important notes

  • A £3.00 processing charge will be deducted from any refund.

  • The service fee paid at the time of purchase is non-refundable. Only lesson fees can be refunded.

If you pay by instalments

  • If you have used more lessons than you have paid for, support will calculate the shortfall and advise on the best way to settle it. This may involve:

    • Keeping your instalment plan running, or

    • Receiving an invoice for the outstanding amount.

  • If you have paid more than the value of lessons used, support will calculate the refund and cancel any remaining instalments.

Lesson Offers and Trial Lessons

Lesson offers and trial lessons are covered by a 14-day cooling-off period, starting from the date of purchase. This period ends either:

  • After 14 days, or

  • Once the first lesson has taken place (whichever happens first).

After the 14-day cooling-off period, refunds depend on your teacher’s individual terms, which are shown in the offer you purchased. Many teachers do not allow refunds once this period has expired.

How to request a refund

  1. Contact your teacher first to let them know you intend to request a refund.

  2. Once your teacher has been notified, email support at [email protected] to request the refund.

    • Please confirm in your email that you have already informed your teacher.

Important notes

  • A £3.00 processing charge will be deducted from any refund.

  • The service fee paid at purchase is non-refundable. Only lesson fees can be refunded.
