Disclosure requirements
If you are a teacher residing in England or Wales
We require all teachers residing in England or Wales to provide a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate. This must include Child Workforce checks and be dated within the last 12 months. If your certificate is older than 12 months, it must be registered on the Update Service for us to accept it, and we must also have sight of the original certificate.
Don't have a certificate that meets our requirements? We can help support you in sourcing a new Enhanced DBS certificate as part of your application.
If you are a teacher residing in Scotland
Teachers residing in Scotland will require one of two new documents:
Enhanced PVG Scheme Membership (if they are not currently a member of the Enhanced PVG Scheme)
Scheme Record Update (if they are already a member of the Enhanced PVG Scheme)
Either option must be applied via our service provider. We can help support you in sourcing such checks as part of your application.
Please note - We cannot accept pre-existing PVG documents from applicants because they will not show us as an organisation with which the applicant works. This means we will not be informed of any changes to the applicant’s disclosure status.
If you are a teacher residing in Northern Ireland
Teachers residing in Northern Ireland need to present an Enhanced AccessNI Scheme certificate that includes the child workforce checks. This should be dated within the last 3 months.
If you do not have this certificate, we can help support you in sourcing a new Enhanced AccessNI DBS certificate as part of your application.
FAQ’s
How do I upload my Enhanced disclosure certificate?
Once registered, log into your account, you can upload a photo/scan of your certificate directly to your dashboard
Do I need to upload a scan of the actual certificate, or will a screenshot taken from the update service suffice?
In all cases, you must be able to show us the actual certificate. A screenshot of your Update Service account summary page is not acceptable. The original certificate is the only place that shows the checks that were conducted as part of the disclosure process. Even if you do not intend to teach under 18's, you must be cleared to work with children.
