Lesson Blocks vs Lesson Offers: what’s the difference?

The platform offers two ways to sell lessons: Lesson Blocks and Lesson Offers. Each works slightly differently and suits different teaching and booking styles.

Lesson Blocks

Lesson Blocks are a standard, fixed product.

  • Students can buy 1, 5, 10, 20 or 40 lessons

  • Larger blocks reduce the price per lesson

  • Instalment options are available on larger blocks

  • 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel a lesson

  • Unused lessons are refundable

  • Teachers manually add lessons to the calendar

  • Confirmed lessons are automatically invoiced

  • Transport fees are added separately

Pricing

  • Your take-home amount is fixed

  • Platform fees vary by block size

  • Single lessons have the highest fee

  • 40-lesson blocks have the lowest fee

Lesson Blocks are best for students committing to regular lessons on a standard pricing structure.

Lesson Offers

Lesson Offers are flexible and bespoke.

  • Can include any number of lessons

  • Offers over £100 can be paid in 3 instalments

  • Teachers set their own terms and cancellation rules

  • The price includes transport fees

  • Lessons are added to the calendar automatically

  • A 14-day cooling-off period applies

Pricing

  • Platform fees are fixed, regardless of lesson quantity

  • Bronze: 20%

  • Silver: 18%

  • Gold: 16%

  • Platinum: 14%

Lesson Offers are ideal for trial lessons, one-by-one bookings, or students not ready to commit to a large block.

Which should I use?

  • Use Lesson Blocks for simple, standardised pricing

  • Use Lesson Offers for flexibility and one-off or trial lessons

Many teachers choose to use both.

FAQ's

Why are platform fees higher on single lessons in Lesson Blocks?

Lesson Blocks use a sliding fee scale designed to reward long-term commitment. Single lessons carry the highest fee, while large blocks (e.g. 40 lessons) carry the lowest.

Why do Lesson Offers exist?

Lesson Offers were created to solve the issue of high effective fees on one-off lessons. They allow teachers to offer single or short-term bookings at a fixed, predictable platform fee. They are also suitable for teachers who wish to customise prices per student and implement their own cancellation policies.

When should I use a Lesson Offer instead of a Block?

Use a Lesson Offer when:

  • A student wants to book lessons one at a time

  • You’re offering a trial lesson

  • You want bespoke pricing or terms

  • A student isn’t ready to commit to a long block

Can I use both Lesson Blocks and Lesson Offers?

Yes. Many teachers use:

  • Lesson Blocks for ongoing students

  • Lesson Offers for trials or short-term arrangements

Who sets cancellation and refund terms?

  • Lesson Blocks follow standard platform terms - 24 hours notice

  • Lesson Offers use terms set by the teacher

Do I always receive the price I set?

Yes. Your take-home amount is fixed. Platform fees are applied on top and vary depending on the product used.

Why do Lesson Offers include transport fees?

Including transport fees ensures:

  • Clear, all-in pricing for students

  • No separate charges after purchase

  • Better alignment with the fixed platform fee model
